Ted, sounds like a wonderful trip. The only problem I see with the whole thing is ODESSA, why anyone would want to go to Slow-deatha is beyond me. LOL I have always wanted to take a similar trip but through the south and up the east coast. Do you go anywhere near where the mountain is being carved in the likeness of Crazy Horse? That would be cool to see. Have fun, and remember, do not drink and drive….you might hit a bump and spill it. Later dh
Hey Don
Thanks for the post! I’m with you on the Odessa (“Slowdeatha”) stop but we have family there who think it is the Garden of Eden! I don’t know if it’s the heat, H2S gas in the air, or the hope of another big oil boom that affects their ability to break free and leave. I really think it might be the great tasting water! Right!
Anyway, yeah, we have been to Crazy Horse and Rushmore, two of the most beautiful spots I’ve seen in America. Thanks for the tip on driving while drinking!
Keep posting in!
Ted
I have such fond memories of Odessa! Ted took me there years ago and I just got the biggest kick out of the journey there, the people, the landscape and the whole experience. Visiting Iraan, seeing the real-life versions of Hank and his crew from King of the Hill, pet goats, , sitting on the back of trucks with a cold beer watching the most beautiful sunsets i’ve ever seen in my life, life or death drives down steep hills with 20,000 lbs. of metal behind me and just meeting random interesting human beings, i’m always going to have a soft spot for that part of Texas. Good memories!!
